I recently had the pleasure and unique opportunity to sample and try out teas from Athena's Delight. The three teas I tried were all flavored black teas, including Maple, Icewine, and Blueberry. I would like to review the three teas I sampled, from the perspective of a long-time tea lover. I usually prefer loose teas, especially flavored teas, and fruity teas. I love sweetness in a tea as opposed to bitterness, and I have a broad collection of loose leaf teas that I keep on hand for myself.

The first tea I tried was the Maple flavored tea. I have never tried that flavor before, but it truly appealed to me as I love Maple syrup. I steeped the bag in hot water for a bit too long as I was reading in the bathtub, but the flavor was terrific! A very bold tea, that you shouldn't steep for too long or it will turn bitter as the tea leaves are very very fresh. It had a subtle hint of maple flavoring that I savored. This was an extremely pleasant cup of tea, that I recommend to those of you who love bold flavor, and sweetness with your tea.

The second tea I sampled was the Icewine tea. I wasn't sure what to expect with it, but let me tell you, the aroma of this tea is simply amazing! Very aromatic, and again like with the Maple, very bold. This one didn't have the sweetness of the Maple flavored tea, but it was extremely refreshing. In fact, I would go so far as to say it would make a most excellent iced tea! Very tangy and delicious!

Finally, I also sampled the Blueberry tea, which was extremely aromatic, not as bold as the other two, but very sweet, tasty, and wonderful to try. It was a very "true" blueberry, unlike the Stash tea variety which has too much of a licorice-type taste to it, this is a very refreshing and enjoyable blueberry flavored tea. If you like Blueberry or fruit-flavored teas, I highly recommend this one!

Overall, I was extremely pleased with the teas I received. For bagged teas, they were of extremely high quality, as well as bold and fresh. In fact, I couldn't tell the difference between my high grade loose leaf teas and the teas I received from Athena's Delight. I highly recommend these teas to all tea lovers, as not only are they a wonderful drink, but very reasonably priced as well. I definitely will be shopping for teas and coffee there in the future.
